Members Rebuilding TWU
It is understood that the International will not approve John Samuelsen’s administration idea of purchasing the building that’s located in Brooklyn for the following reasons:
· The building contains a substantial amount of asbestos and would cost a few million dollars to abate
· The building requires extensive repairs and would cost millions of dollars that could bankrupt the Local
· When the building is repaired the Local still would not own the property.
John Samuelsen’s intent is to Ram the Building Down our Throats
· By having a mass membership meeting and taken a vote or
· By sending a ballot out for our approval or
· By having a telephone ballot for us to call in our vote so the International would have no alternative but to approve the sale.
We all saw how John Samuelsen’s administration MANIPULATED the Solidarity Fund Vote and took our money against our will. Instead of finding a place to house us (the members), he took over the lease at 1700 Bway where the members are not welcome and having to waste more of our union dues to rent locations to have union meetings.
The wasteful spending of our money has to stop. ONLY WE COULD STOP IT, remember VOTE NO for the purchase of the condemned building that John Samuelsen and administration are attempting to ram down your throat.
It’s Our Union We Control it. Vote No- to the wasteful spending of our dues, VOTE No - to buying an asbestos filled, depleted building.
