John Samuelsen and his administration is attempting to deceive you into allowing him to give away benefits won in previous contracts
Take notice of John and his administration going around trying
to get you to pick the five most important items to you. The
choices are wages, health benefits, retires benefits, pick and
schedules, promotional opportunity, childcare/maternity,
vacation/sick, job security, defend 25/55 pension and dignity on
job/discipline/sick control. Remember we won the following in previous
contracts: wages, health benefits on a 1.5 on you base pay,
some departments have pick language in the contract, the
apprentice program that allows you to get training for a
higher position, childcare and maternity leave, vacation/ and
additional sick leave usage, 25/55 pension and dignity on the job.
The question is why is John and his administration looking to
have discussions on the things we won in the past. The answer
is give backs. Those of you who have been paying close
attention to John and his administration take notice
that he gave back with no fight back items such as: job security(
our members were laid off and their was no fight back), NO
union presence on the job (out goes your dignity on the
job), elimination of the apprentices program (last year after
an apprentice class graduation, all those who graduated were
told that they had to return to their original position) there goes
the promotional opportunity. These are a few examples
of givebacks with no fight back by John and his
administration. Members have a right to hold John and his
administration for promises made during his campaign. Let us
not forget his promises: Universal pass ( so members may ride
on other subway and bus system or over bridges) NO Layoff,
Prevailing wages????
DON'T BE BAMBOOZLED into allowing John and his
administration to discuss benefits already won in
